Hello,

It has been a long time since the last update. Since then, we have released our all new website and have had some changes in the server's personnel. In addition to being busy with other commitments, there simply has not been enough time to dedicate to working on the server. For that reason, we are excited to announce our new Player versus Player server.

This new server will be similar to how the old one (that was removed upon our reopening in 2019) worked. Upon spawning into the server, you will be greeted by a villager. By right clicking them, you will be able to choose your Kit. Jump down the hole to partake in a free for all fight against other players. When a fight breaks out, make sure that you do not log off. Players who do so will be penalised by the combat log system. Once you respawn, pick your kit again and repeat. On your left, you can right click a sign to join a duel. Duels are 1 versus 1 fights against another player.

Hello!

Skyblock season 4 will be starting on Saturday the 22nd of August at 3pm BST (UK Time)! Everything has been reset to give new players a chance to succeed this season.

We have added a few new features including: minions, a more informative sideboard, new 1.9+ items in /shop, tidier GUIs with useful placeholders and an array of new Starter Islands.

First and foremost, the most significant addition to our Skyblock gamemode are minions. Minions will come in: Miner, Collector, Feeder, Fisher, Farmer, Lumberjack, Slayer and Seller variants and will be available in the Mob Coins Shop accessible by typing /mobcoin. They are entities you can spawn on your island to execute a specific task on repeat to help you earn some Skyblock in-game cash. They must be fed in order to continue operating. You can do so by right clicking them with food. A total of 3 Minions can be placed by a single player while Potato Ranked players will be able to place up to 5 total minions. Upgrading to Potato+ will enable you to place up to 7 minions per player.

We have rebuilt our Skyblock sideboard from the ground up to provide you with more informative information so that you waste no time looking up your Island Size. The other key pieces of information displayed on this new sideboard consist of: IGN, Balance, Mob Coins Balance, Island Name, Level and the Number of Members part of your team. We have used some of this and implemented it into the Island Upgrades menu so that you can see your current Island Specifications.

The Skyblock in-game shop include a number of new blocks and items introduced in newer versions of Minecraft. Some of these items include: Totem of Undying, Elytra and Chorus Flower. Speaking of Chorus Flowers, we have made some of the new plants a good investment for those of you aiming to try and win this season. For example, a Weeping Vine can be purchased for £2000. They can then be farmed and resold for £120 each.

We have tidied up some of our GUIs to ensure that ease of navigation can be prioritised. In addition to this, we have implemented placeholders so that the player will know whether or not they have access to a certain item or when a certain kit will be next available after a cool down.

Another very noticeable new feature are our new Start Islands. Most Islands will come in 3 sizes: Small, Medium and Large with the exception of desert and mycelium. Small Islands will be accessible by all players while Medium will be accessible by Potato Ranked players etc..

This season, the prizes for the top islands are as follows:
1st Place - £20 PayPal
2nd Place - £10 PayPal
3rd Place - £10 In-Game Store

Hello!

Throughout the last week on lockdown, I have been spending my time creating the new Potato Paradise Survival Server.

The new Survival Server will be using the server version: 1.15.2 however as always we will be allowing all clients from 1.8 and newer to log on. Of course this will mean that certain items and entities will have to be replaced with alternatives and so for that reason we suggest using a newer client if possible for the best gameplay experience. We will be incorporating the 'Stars' that players can earn in the Minigames server in Survival. Players can use them to buy and sell items in the Survival Shop in addition to earning them through the achievements. Players will also be able to vote for our server on the 3 server lists we have chosen for Survival: ServerPact, MinecraftServersList and Top Servers. By doing so, players can receive a Crate Key as a reward. To keep our servers consistent, we will be using the same Crate names as our Skyblock Server - Vote, Elite and Legendary - which means that there will be 3 tiers. By voting, there will be a 70% chance of receiving a Vote key, 20% chance of receiving an Elite key and a 10% chance of receiving a Legendary key.

When you log in for the first time, you will receive 32 Baked Potatoes and a claim shovel. Like the previous survival server we had prior to our closure, claiming is easy and can be learnt by watching this video if you do not know how to do so already. http://bit.ly/mcgpuser Players will receive 100 claim blocks upon arrival and will generally receive 100 more for every hour they play on the Survival Server. You will also be able to create a Player-Created warp using the /sethome <homeName> command. Players with the Default Rank will be able to set 1 home whereas players with Potato Rank will be able to set 3 while Potato+ players will be able to set a total of 5. To warp to your home, you can type /homes to open up the GUI and select which home to warp to.

To make navigation simpler, we have made a warp GUI similar to the one in Skyblock. You can type /warp at any time to open the warp GUI. This will allow you to see all the possible warps and select the one you want to be teleported to.

There will be 2 boards in spawn. The first board is the Survival Leaderboard. This will show the players that have earned the most achievements. The other board is the command help board. This will display all of the basic commands that you will need to play our Survival Server.

Hello!

Skyblock season 2 will be starting today at 6pm BST! Everything has been reset to give new players a chance to succeed this season.

We have added a reasonable amount of new features including: /hat for Potato+ rank, /smelt for Potato rank and /smeltall for Potato+ rank. In addition to this, we have added multiple new starter islands which consist of: Netherblock, Candy, Sand, Jungle, Swamp and Snow! Players will now have a much greater choice when choosing what island to start off with.

Lastly, I would like to talk about the new "Mob coins" currency we have added. Every time you kill a mob, you will receive some Mob Coins. The number of Mob Coins you receive will depend on the type of Mob you have killed. For example, killing a cow will get you 3 Mob Coins but killing a Skeleton would get you 5 mob coins. The mob coin shop can be accessed by typing /mobcoin or by accessing it in the main menu by typing /menu. This will open a GUI where you can see your balance in addition to all of the exclusive items you can purchase with your mob coins. The Mob Coin shop will consist of: items with custom enchantments and other useful items to grow your island such as Crop Hoppers, Sell Sticks and Spawners.

This season, the prizes for the top islands are as follows:

Hello!

Thank you to everyone that logged on tonight to helped Beta Test our new Minigames server. We were pleased with the outcome and the response of this new gamemode. I understand that there are a fair few bugs and intermittent lag spikes however we will try our best to solve these as quickly as we can. Listed below are all the known issues with the Minigames server.

- Lag spikes ✓
- PvP Glitches - Especially With Staff ✓
- 5 Kills to Win Quake Craft should be 10 ✓
- OITC breaks tab colours ✓
- Block Party - PvP should be disabled ✓

Hi, we have attempted to block off all of the "safe places" which prevents players from camping. If you do find a place you can camp, ensure that you report it in the bug reports section and you will receive a reward.

Could you please explain to me how it creates an unfair advantage? Surely the player will just die if they are afk since they can't possibly control 2 clients at the same time.

Hello everyone!

It is crazy that we have been open for over 2 years, however, all good things must come to an end. Of course, Potato Paradise has been a great experience for me and I am sure it has been a roller coaster for you guys too. Throughout recent months I have not had enough time to fulfill my role as an Owner due to school work and finding time to do things I enjoy outside of working on the server. For that reason, I can no longer keep Potato Paradise up and running. You may also be very aware that the server is pretty empty and this is at all times 24/7. Throughout the past couple of years, ex staff members and I have been working countless hours trying to gain attention for the server to try to get the player count up. As a conclusion, I have found that there really just isn't any way I, myself or just a few of my friends can help the server gain players and so, as a result, each month I pay money out of my own pocket to go towards the server due to lack of donations.

Now that I have had plenty of time to think this through, I realise that I don't really enjoy Minecraft as much as I used to like how I did a couple years back when I was 12 or 13. Sadly I have to announce that the closure of Potato Paradise will be Sunday the 11th of February 2018 at 6PM BST. This shall make the Network 778 days old on the date of closure. It has been a pleasure to meet every single one of you on the server, even if we did not end on a high note.

Hey People of Potato Paradise!

I have literally been up all night working on some new stuff for Potato Paradise! Today we shall be discontinuing the "Trapdoor Spleef" Gamemode and replacing it with The Laboratory. We are thrilled to bring The Lab to PP as we have given Dr. Zuk's Laboratory an amazing Potatoey makeover! Leaderboards for The Laboratory have also been added to the Treetop Title Holders in Hub so the competition is on!

Talking about Leaderboards, we are experimenting with our new Leaderboards section on our website. At the moment we are testing and so resultingly there will be lots of bugs and it may not look the best. Throughout the next few weeks, we plan on improving this section of the website and making it look cleaner.

Lastly, we all know how much of a pain it is having your stats reset in Kit PvP/Duels. Well, worry no longer! I have tidied up the top 30 player's statistics meaning all your statistics from all of your past IGNs will be bundled together. Hopefully, you will now also keep your stats and not need to worry about changing your name too!

Remember to report any known bugs on the PP Forums in the Bug Reporting section and we will try to fix it as soon as possibly can.
